Carrier bags have had a lot of bad press recently, although plastic bags account for only 0.05% of UK landfill some politicians and the media have jumped on the bandwagon and seem to have branded them as public enemy number one! The fact remains that they are a necessary part of modern life and there isn't a viable alternative to carry your shopping home. However, we can all do our bit for the environment by re-using and recycling wherever possible, or by using the new degradable alternatives.
